Cruising on a Saturday Afternoon…
Written By Hollyburn Sailing Club
We got lucky and had some very good sailing conditions today. We had 18 people in 8 boats, plus Tom (and Braxton zipping about in his Waszp). We used 5 of the 6 co-op boats.
Ignoring the gusts, the wind chart showed about 11-15kts when we were on the water. We don't want more than that. I didn't think it was much over 10kts on the crossing, but did notice a few whitecaps on the way back and was constantly fighting the waves to keep my boat on course. Fortunately the tide and wind were coming from the same direction.

The next planned HSC sailing events are a race on Sunday Aug 25 and a Cruise Saturday Aug 31.
We may try for a second Jericho crossing in mid-September, but nothing is planned yet.
