Boat sharing made easy.
The HSC Coop
The HSC Coop is a great way to get on the water without having to own, maintain or pay for storage of your own equipment.
The Coop program promotes sailing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding by allowing members to use a variety of shared watercraft. The Sailboats include everything you need from spars, sails and foils to paddles, paddle blocks, throw lines and hand pumps. The SUPs include paddles and leashes and the Kayaks include paddles, spray skirts, floatation blocks, and hand pumps.
Members are responsible for providing their own PFD, wetsuit and whistle.
Please be reminded that wearing a PFD is absolutely manditory if you use the Coop equipment. There is a bin of extra PFDs if you have forgotten yours.
To join the Coop, you need to be a member of HSC.
Coop Equipment is signed out by scanning a QR Code located on each vessel. Signing out the Coop equipment is manditory. Please remember to bring your phone.
To skipper a sailboat, you will need to have completed CanSail 2. See the Adult Lessons section.
To use the Kayaks, you will need to have completed a “Wet Exit and Recovery” course. Wet Exit courses will be offered in the Summer months, based on demand.
To find out more check out the HSC Coop Manual.
