What the heck are these???

When we had our man-gate lock fixed, the locksmith recommended the installation of “rain shields” over the locks to protect them from the rain.

The rain shields are painted blue so you see them easily and do not hit them with your hand when opening up the gate.

There are four rain shields, two for each lock.

The four rain shields were installed on Tuesday, ready for the snowstorm predicted for Wednesday. (February 24th)

The rain shields were glued on using silicone sealant…removable if we need to.

These rain shields should help the locks to last longer in our “sea-side” enviroment.
