Sponge Reef Day at HSC!

Hollyburn Sailing Club Ocean Week event was Glass Sponge Discovery Day. The club hosted Presentations by the Howe Sound UNESCO Biosphere Region, Vancouver Aquarimun’s Marine Mammal Recue Centre and Adam Taylor on Glass Sponge Reefs in Howe Sound.

Glass Sponge Discovery Day Schedule:

10 am                                Hollyburn Sailing Club Opens to the Public

10am Vancouver Aquarium’s Marine Mammal Rescue Centre booth opens

10am Ocean Ambassadors and PickUp3 booth opens

10 am- 10:30 am              Vancouver Aquarium Marine Mammal Rescue Centre Presentation

10:30 am  (Outside)         Music by “You Can Uke Too”

10:30 am & on  (Outside)                Kids Crafts (Ocean Theme)

1045am Howe Sound UNESCO Biosphere Presentation

11 am                                 Glass Sponge Reef presentation by Adam Taylor

11:30 am (Outside)         Story of Herring “Puppet” Show

12 noon – 2 pm                Hot Dogs & Refreshments (while quantities last!)

1:30 pm                             Howe Sound UNESCO Biosphere Presentation

2 pm                                  Vancouver Aquarium Marine Mammal Rescue Centre Presentation

3 pm to 4 pm                   Exibitor Booths, then event finish
