Sunfish Sail a great success

It was great that Barbara was able to join us and do some sailing in West Vancouver. Now she just needs to finish the 9 other provinces and 3 territories to complete the rest of Canada :)

Barbara is attempting to sail her Sunfish in every state and province! Thanks to HSC, British Columbia is checked off the list.

Thank you to everyone who came out on the trip today. If we include Jonathan (who sailed with us part way), I think we set a new record for the number of people and boats who came on a group sail. Quite a change from the first “Cruise” the club ran this year in June where we had 3 people in 2 boats (it also rained a bit that day).

 There were 16 members and 9 boats at West Bay. We set out with 10 boats (not including Jonathan and Grace). It was unfortunate that the Vision had a breakdown, but I am happy they were able to return safely (and that home was downwind).

The next planned cruise will be a crossing to Jerhico Sailing Centre on Aug 17th (Weather permitting).

Next weekend the Wooden Boat Show is Saturday Aug 10th and there is a race on Sunday, Aug 11.
