Kayak Training Course Full

Kayak training students assemble on the beach in front of the club.

Our Tuesday May 16th kayak Training Course was fully attended.

Training conditions were perfect! High tide, low swells and a light Westerly.

The Instructor covered:

1.      Basic safety plan

2.      Gear requirements for a day trip

3.      Complexities of the forward stroke

4.      Edging

5.      Stern rudder and pry

6.      Low Brace

The kayaks launch. Conditions could not have been better!!!

One of the topics covered was entering the kayak when it is afloat, not sitting on the beach.

With everyone off the beach, the lesson starts.

At the end of the day, kayak clean-up and put-a-way is gone over.

Thanks to our Paddling Captain, Nick (Left) , and to our instructor Marissa (Right), for an enjoyable and informational evening.
