The Hollyburn Race Team builds seasoned racers’ skills while introducing new sailors to racing in a fun and safe environment. Individuals of all skill levels are encouraged to join, there is a program for you. learning through competition, education and camaraderie racers will enjoy sailing as a lifelong sport. Many of our sailors are simply delighted by the opportunity to spend more time on the water and sail fast. Practices include both theory and on-water training.
Our team attends regattas across the province and provides the opportunity to race the entire BC Circuit.
Prerequisites: Knowledge of racing is not required but a minimum of level of CANSail 3 is recommended. Participation in the Youth Racing Team is restricted to junior or family members.
Boats: Laser, Laser Radial, RS Feva, 420 or 29er
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made more than two weeks before the course start date will get a full refund (less a $35 administration fee). Any cancellations within two weeks of the start date will not be refunded unless demonstrable extraneous circumstances exist. To cancel out of a current sailing session, please email the director at programdirector@hollyburnsailingclub.ca
Junior Racing Team
An enjoyable introduction to racing for younger sailors who are interested in dipping their toes into high-performance sailing.
Ages 7-10

Development Team
An introductory sailing experience for sailors who are older than the juniors but not ready to transition to the senior race team. Taught by our excellent coaches the Dev Team is an exciting and inclusive entry to sailing or continuation of summer camps into fall and in spring.

Senior Race Team
HSC Senior Race team is gauged for sailors who are over 12 years old and interested in learning to compete at a provincial level. It is a fun inclusive environment that focuses on high performance. The race team goes to many events at other clubs over the year.
Prerequisites: Intermediate sailing skills
