Last week (May 23-28), three Mirror dinghies set out from Cowichan Bay and circumnavigated Saltspring Island. During the trip we visited Conover Cove on Wallace Island.

In the past, Wallace Island hosted a resort with cabins, a few are still standing. One cabin is covered and filled with signs, and some burgees, from visitors. We added a Hollyburn burgee to the collection.

Wallice Island is mostly a marine park and a beautiful spot to visit in the Gulf Islands. It can accessed from Montague Harbour (12km distance), Galiano Island, or by launching from Vancouver Island.

#please put the next two photos side by side

A report on the full trip will be appearing in the next edition of the Spreader.

Lastly, as we arrived back at Cowichan Bay we spotted a Fireball heading out for a training session ahead of the July Fireball Nationals.
