To our members,

The COVID-19 situation is ever evolving and requires quick action and cooperation.  At Hollyburn Sailing Club, we are committed to the safety and well-being of our members, visitors and the general public and are closely monitoring the recommendations of public health authorities.

We encourage all users of our facility to follow advice from public health authorities and to stay at home and avoid non-essential social contact to contain the spread of COVID-19. If you do come down to use your craft we ask that you do so only if you are healthy, that you maintain appropriate social distance (2 metres) from others at all times and that you follow COVID-19 hand hygiene protocols.  We will be taking steps to make sanitation supplies available and to increase the frequency of upstairs washroom cleaning.

Effective immediately and until further notice, the following facility restrictions are in place at Hollyburn Sailing Club:

  • Essential use only of upstairs clubhouse (e.g. essential Executive mail pick-up, renovation activities, washrooms)
  • Closure of downstairs shower rooms and washrooms
  • Co-op equipment users must use COVID-19 hand hygiene protocols and disinfect “high touch” shared equipment before and after use.

While these measures may seem extreme, our sacrifices now could help save lives later.  The virus is highly transmissible and the use of shared facilities and equipment at this time is irresponsible.  The situation is changing rapidly, and we will keep you posted should there be any changes to our approach.

Along with the rest of the world, the whole HSC community is navigating an unprecedented situation with Covid-19. I encourage you to take care of yourself and your family and to reach out to those who may be in need of assistance in these unsettling times.  Please watch our website for additional information on how you can assist those in need during the coming weeks.

Thank you very much for your understanding.
