On December 17th, 9 paddlers and sailors (rowing) put Christmas lights
on their boats and multiples warm layers on their bodies to paddle to
Dundarave for the Festival of Lights bonfire.

After circling in front of the beach, we landed and visited the HSC
Christmas Tree, warmed up in the big tent, listened to some music, and
had some free hot dogs.

The temperature was very cold, with salt water freezing to a kayak deck
on the way back, but fortunately the snow held off until the next day.

Than you to everyone who came out and to Ian and Dan for running the
safety boat. Also thank you to Denise and her helpers for organizing the
food for the potluck and to Neil, Jen, and Steve for providing music.

Finally, here is a photo from the next day titled “Snow Capped Mirrors”.
